Internship Overview:
The Georgia-Pacific Accounting Internship is a 10 week paid summer internship designed to provide meaningful real-work experience. Interns will be placed with one of our accounting teams in a manufacturing location, likely along the West Coast.  Planned career networking events and focused mentoring prepare our interns for a career within the Georgia-Pacific financial groups, either in one of our manufacturing locations across the United States or in our Corporate Headquarters in Atlanta, GA.

At Georgia-Pacific, we utilize behavior based interviewing. If you are not familiar with this interviewing method, I would suggest researching the topic in some detail before our conversation. The following website will assist you in understanding behavior based interviewing:  http://jobsearch.about.com/cs/interviews/a/behavioral.htm

It is also a good practice, when preparing for an interview, to learn more  about Georgia-Pacific and Koch Industries. The following websites will provide a basis for learning about Georgia-Pacific and the products that we produce as well as Koch Industries.

Oregon State University
Tax Careers Symposium
January 14, 2015

Objective:
To increase the exposure of students to taxation as a viable career path within the accounting profession and inform students about some of the various career opportunities in taxation.  Hopefully, this event will help to cast careers in taxation in a positive light and move students away from the stereotypes of tax as either 1) a boring career made up only of mundane/routine tax return preparation or 2) a career to be fearful of in which one can expect to constantly struggle to deal with an overwhelmingly technical and complex set of tax laws.

Participants:
Josh Dunlap – KPMG (Portland)
Kenny Martin – Moss Adams (Eugene)
Nicole Hoby – Kernutt Stokes (Eugene)
Alyce Chapman – Anderson Group CPAs (Corvallis)
R. L. Widmer – Umbrella Properties (Eugene)
Laura Kent – Esco (Portland)

Hello,

This year the College of Business has signed up for its very own Relay For Life Team and and we would be honored if you’d join our team. The Relay For Life event is a great time for friends to get together to have fun, honor cancer survivors, remember those lost to the disease, and raise funds and awareness to help end cancer forever. We have several ways you can get involved which are listed below:

1.You can join our team by following this link http://main.acsevents.org/goto/CollegeofBusiness, joining our team requires a $20 donation but this does go toward cancer research. As a team member you will be able to participate in the Relay For Life Event, May 16th where we will be participating in team competitions, walking laps and many other events.

2. During the Relay for Life Event May 16th, 9:30pm – 10:30 pm Java Stop will be giving free coffee and hot chocolate, donations encouraged to support our College of Business Relay For Life Team.

3. Stop by our Bake Sale May 5th and 6th from 8am – 5pm on the main floor of Bexell Hall to purchase a baked good, all proceed will support our College of Business Relay For Life Team. Debit, Credit and Cash will be accepted.

We appreciate your time and help!
Thank you,
