Week 5: KPMG Case Competition; BAP – Work Life Balance, Jobs and Events

FALL 2015 ACTIVITIES:
1.  BAP; Wednesday, Oct. 28th 6-7pm; AH 226; Perkins will be hosting a workshop on WorkLife Balance. See attached flyer or osubap.com

For BAP members or candidates:
“Need volunteer hours? Sign up for JA in a Day and come teach at a local elementary school! Junior Achievement (JA) is a nationally recognized curriculum that focuses on entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy. On Friday, October 30 and Friday, November 13, join the student club Enactus and volunteer teach for the morning. Curriculum and materials are provided as well as your breakfast and transportation!  We would like volunteers to sign up a week before the teaching date so Friday October 23rd and Friday November 6th  at midnight is the deadline to sign up for either of the volunteer dates and you can sign up for both. For more information, contact Staci Rick at staci.rick@oregonstate.edu.”

IMA Chapter Activities:
1. Widmer Brothers Brewery Tour & Blazer game – Nov. 20th – Learn about the cost accounting side of the brewery and talk with some of the accountants on site. Blazer game is vs. the LA Clippers!

KPMG’s International Case Competition- give us 48 hours and we could give you an all-expenses-paid trip to Dubai, United Arab Emirates. You and three friends have the chance to work on real business problems and come up with innovative solutions. This program promises to be a wonderful experience. But before you can take the challenge, you must first sign up for the campus competition. Spots are limited.

The winning team from Oregon will be invited to participate in the Semi Final Competition-location still to be determined-on
January 15, 2016. From that group, one team will be chosen to compete in the National Competition in New York on February 26, 2016. Finally, the winning team from that round will go on to represent the U.S. in Dubai, United Emirates in April… to TAKE ON THE WORLD!
