Scholarships:
1.  Internal Auditor magazine if offering scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students. There will be six scholarships for $1,000 awarded over the next year for students with the top essays. Essay topics and submission periods along with more information can be found on the IIA website.

2.  Moss Adams recruiters will be on campus over the next few weeks and are excited to meet with students and share information about our Summer Leadership Programs (SLP) and Diversity Scholarship.

We will host 1-on-1 meetings with SLP candidates to review your resume, talk over eligibility requirements, application process or anything else you would like to discuss.

1.  Grant Thorton, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, Moss Adams, KS, Jones & Roth (see attached flyer) and AKT all have leadership programs for the summer.  Please find the leadership opportunities in Beaver Careers.  The deadline is Feb. 24th.  You can apply and attend multiple events.  This is excellent for someone who is 2.5 to 3 years from graduation.  Stop by to visit the firms next week if you have questions.

2.  KPMG China (SEE ATTACHED FLYER) reaches out and asks the US team to help source strong talent for their opportunities. If you think any of your BAP members might be interested, would you mind sharing the attached flyer with them… and that’s it!  After that point, KPMG China will manage all applicants.  The flyer instructs students to visit the KPMG China careers site to apply.  It also lists contacts for KPMG China, so all questions should be directed there. Please note the following:
·  Interested students must apply directly with KPMG China.  We cannot collect resumes for these position.
·  Applicants can be from any academic discipline (not limited to accounting).

Mentor Program:
The OSCPA is currently accepting student applications for the 2016 Coaching Program. We are asking for your help in notifying students of this career development opportunity available to OSCPA Student members.
What is it?  The Coaching Program is an opportunity for students to meet and talk with an active, experienced accounting professional who can help answer all their questions about accounting as a career. It runs May 1 – August 31, 2016 and is designed to help students learn more about the industry, the day-to-day job of a CPA, refine interview and resume skills, and start building their network in the profession.
Who qualifies to participate?   OSCPA Student members can participate in the Coaching Program if he/she is an active college junior, senior, post baccalaureate or masters accounting student taking at least 6 credits and signs up by April 15, 2016.

2.  Internship opportunity with $3 Billion NYSE listed Insurance Company in Los Angeles, California
Mercury Insurance (Ticker “MCY”) is hiring for summer interns in 2016.  The position has flexible work hours (30 to 40 per week), flexible start and finish date (must work at least 8 weeks) and pays $16.56 an hour.  This position will assist with Finance Department projects which may include Economic Capital Modeling, Financial Planning and Analysis, Cost Benefit Studies, and Cost Accounting Projects.

Position is located at 4484 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA.  Qualifications:  Major in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.  Must have completed (by summer start date) junior level core Accounting or Finance courses to be considered for position.  Prefer candidates who will graduate with a B.S. in Finance or Accounting within one year of internship.
