ATTENTION SENIORS
SENIORS you are cordially invited to attend the annual Accounting Banquet to be held at the Alumni Center (725 SW 26th St, Corvallis) on the evening of Wednesday, May 10th. Typically, guests arrive at 5:30p with a formal dinner beginning at 6:00p, and awards, recognition of seniors, etc. thereafter. Generally the evening ends by 8:00p. This year’s theme is “Accounting for the Future”.

Intro to Coaching & Mentoring, BA 407 We’d like to see Accounting Studentg with interest in learning the softer skills needed to be successful.  We think this might be a great opportunity.  See flyer
Build valuable skills, make an impact, earn credit! The aim of this course is two-fold: (1) provide those with senior standing an opportunity to gain résumé-worthy mentoring/coaching experience and (2) assist first and second year students integrate into the business school and succeed in their first business classes. Fall 2017, 2 credits: A theory-based exploration of mentoring and coaching with a focus on preparing students for hands-on experiences in the winter and spring terms. Meets weekly for 2 hours. Winter and Spring 2018, 1 credit each: Once-weekly opportunities to lead groups of students in hour-long discussions of relevant topics such as contributing to a team project, leading others, etc. Registration information: BA 407, Section 2, CRN 25776

IMA Scholarship
IMA is offering 10 CMA scholarships to students this year.  Applications need to be submitted to me by Friday, May 12.  Please email Dr. Akroyd if you are interested in being nominated.

Eligibility Requirements
IMA is pleased to offer the CMA Scholarship opportunity to up to 10 of your students who are interested in pursuing CMA Certification. This includes both undergraduate and graduate level students in accredited accounting or business programs. Multiple faculty members can submit nominations but the limit is 10 per school, per academic year. Students in both U.S. and international accounting and finance programs are eligible to apply. For undergraduate programs, there is a preference that students completing the junior (third) year of their program be nominated for the award. Undergraduate and graduate level scholarships are awarded based on faculty nomination.
