Meet the Firms — Wednesday, Oct. 5th, MU

ENJOY your summer but use it to plan for fall recruiting!!!

Fall Recruiting:
1.  As the 2015-16 academic year wraps up for the summer, I would like to ask you to save the date for the 2016 OSCPA Career Showcase.  OSCPA Career Showcase will be held at the Oregon Convention Center on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.

This career development event is free to attend, however, we ask you and your students to pre-register (https://www.orcpa.org/about/events/C16008-oscpa_career_showcase-students/). Students will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from local and regional firms, industry organizations and government agencies. OSCPA student members will be granted early entry to this event to meet with the representatives. Please encourage your students that are not currently taking advantage of the OSCPA member benefits to join by completing a student membership application.

Campus Opportunity:
1.  Mindy Perez is looking for a TA for BA215 starting in the fall.  You must apply through the OSU job process. Mindy.Perez@bus.oregonstate.edu

Job Opportunities:
1.  Accountant I Position (see attachment)
The Auxiliaries & Activities Business Center (AABC) at Oregon State University (OSU) is hiring an Accountant 1 position. The Accountant 1 participates in the analysis, planning, interpreting, and review of the fiscal operations of the Childcare & Family Resources and Human Services Resource Center funds. The Accountant 1 performs duties such as accounting, auditing, analysis, budgeting, payroll back up, travel and employee reimbursements, and other types of fiscal operations.  The position will close on June 1.  For more information and to apply, please visit https://jobs.oregonstate.edu/postings/25755.

2.  Dickey and Tremper, LLP office really provides the best of both worlds, which is why I came here from Portland about 16 years ago. We are a local firm, which can provide a lot wider range of accounting and advancement opportunities, but at the same time, we used to be a branch office of a regional firm that merged with Moss Adams and still have the same high end level of work, clients, and professional associations. For new graduates, our salary range is normally between $42,000 to $45,000. Our cost of living is substantially lower than in the larger cities and we have a great opportunity for advancement with my partner retiring in just a few years. A link to the career opportunities section of our website is below, which has the current job description. I am probably the best person to contact for the position.
