1.  As the 2015-16 academic year wraps up for the summer, I would like to ask you to save the date for the 2016 OSCPA Career Showcase.  OSCPA Career Showcase will be held at the Oregon Convention Center on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.

This career development event is free to attend, however, we ask you and your students to pre-register (https://www.orcpa.org/about/events/C16008-oscpa_career_showcase-students/). Students will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from local and regional firms, industry organizations and government agencies. OSCPA student members will be granted early entry to this event to meet with the representatives. Please encourage your students that are not currently taking advantage of the OSCPA member benefits to join by completing a student membership application.

Tax & Wealth Management: The primary responsibilities of this position involve administrative support including copying and assembling documents for tax returns; scanning and filing important tax documents; and organizing and maintaining inventory of the “Copy and Assembly” room. Interns also support our teamwork atmosphere by accepting other duties as assigned and assist staff as needed. This position requires the intern to be detail-oriented and possess strong oral and written communication skills.

Essential Job Functions:
.       Copy and scan original client documents
.       Appropriately file office documents and client folders
.       Stock, organize, and maintain inventory of “Copy and Assembly” room
.       Assist staff as needed and other duties as assigned
.       2nd year interns, will also check assembled returns to verify address labels, payment vouchers, etc. are correct
.       3rd/4th year interns, may prepare simple 1040 returns

The Auxiliaries & Activities Business Center (AABC) at Oregon State University (OSU) is seeking one full-time, 12-month Accounting Technician.

The goal of AABC is to provide the units it serves with an enhanced level of service and greater expertise in core administrative services. Exemplifies, through values, beliefs and practices, the philosophy and mission statement of Oregon State University and AABC. Maintains the highest degree of employee and student confidentiality. Accuracy is critical in that errors impact employee pay, retirement benefits and eligibility and department’s fiscal budgets. Participates in and supports on-going quality improvement activities. Pursues, documents, and evaluates own continuing professional development. Functions as part of the Auxiliaries and Activities Business Center SEC Finance and Accounting team. As a key member of the AABC SEC Finance and Accounting team, the Accountant Tech serves the Student Fee Funded units: Memorial Union, Recreational Sports, Student Health Services, Counseling & Psychological Services, Diversity & Cultural Engagement, Associated Students of OSU (ASOSU), Student Leadership & Involvement, Educational Activities, Childcare & Family Resource Center, and other student organizations. This position’s primary responsibility is to support Orange Media Network and MU Retail Food operations and for the preparation of required documentation, accurate encoding, and entry of income, expense, purchase orders, Procurement Card transactions into the University Financial Information System (FIS).

Responsibilities
The job of Becker’s Campus Ambassadors is to serve as liaisons between Becker and their schools, including:
*Educating students on the benefits of the CPA credential and how Becker is the best option to prepare for the CPA Exam.
*Coordinating presentations and other campus events
*Distributing promotional materials to fellow students and faculty
*Displaying posters and flyers

A Becker Account Manager provides continual local support and equips Campus Ambassadors with the tools and training necessary to complete responsibilities effectively.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates are college Juniors or Seniors, currently enrolled in an Accounting (or equivalent) major at an accredited college or university, and possess the following traits:
*Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
*Actively involved in accounting and/or business organization

Compensation and Benefits
Upon satisfactory completion of responsibilities, Campus Ambassadors receive a certificate for all four parts of Becker’s CPA Exam Review at no cost or at a reduced rate – a $3,393 value. This certificate is valid for any of our two course formats – Live and Online.
